Matt has been working at C&D for several years now and is a real asset to the firm. Our clients took an instant liking to his style and personality. His particular expertise is a perfect fit in the C&D family, and we were thrilled to welcome him as a partner.
Matt is a graduate of BYU, one of the top three accounting schools in the country. Prior to establishing his own firm in Carpinteria, Matt worked for the prestigious firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Recently his Carpinteria based agency merged with C&D.
Matt specializes in business and individual taxation and the interrelationship with closely held business entities. He has extensive experience with real estate taxation, including 1031 exchange transactions. He's always looking for creative ways to improve our client's tax situation. Matt’s understanding of the intricate tax laws and how to use them to improve a situation or find a better solution, makes him an ideal partner and member of the C&D team.
In addition to being proud of his career, he is equally proud of his family and is always ready to tell you the newest adventures of his kids. His wife grew up in the Valley and is a graduate of Santa Ynez Valley Union High School which gives the family real roots in the community. In his leisure, Matt enjoys playing golf and is an enthusiastic volunteer in the community.
