Not many people Kathleen's age can say they attended a one room schoolhouse (it was in Ballard). After returning from college in Ohio, she firmly planted her roots in the Santa Ynez Valley. She now lives only a block from that one room school. One of life's little coincidences.

Kathleen is also a graduate from the School of Hard Knocks She knows first hand what running a small business is all about. In her early 20s she started a gourmet cookware store and then went on to run a women's clothing store. Figuring out how to pay the rent, how to pay herself, and keep everything running smoothly has given her an appreciation and understanding of what her clients are up against in running their businesses. Hands–on experiences have helped build her career.

Kathleen's specialty is in estate and trust planning. Often this can be a sensitive area for clients to talk about. Kathleen has that "knack" of being able to make people feel at ease, and being comfortable in talking about how they wish to handle their estate. She has often said "down deep, most people know what is the right thing to do. We just have to make sure we hear it." And that comes from being a good listener.

Over the years Kathleen has been a speaker at the California Society of CPAs. Her leadership has led to her position as Co-Chair of the Society's Advanced Estate Planning Institute.

Her people skills go beyond the workplace. Full of energy, she is a tireless cheerleader for all kinds of events and causes in the community.
