In addition to helping others with her gifted people skills, Janet guides her clients through their often complex tax situations, business issues and audit planning. She has been in public accounting since 1979 and with our firm since 1987. Janet was made a partner in 2004. It should come as no surprise that her clients are thrilled to have her working for them.
THE SITUATION
An elderly client received a notice from his insurance carrier indicating that the premiums on his life insurance policy were about to be substantially increased. If the premiums were not paid within 10 days, his policy would be cancelled. Understandably the client was quite upset and did not know what to do. He called C&D.
THE PROBLEM
The insurance agent who originally sold the policy to him was longer with the insurance company, or in the area, and the client had no one he could turn to for advice. The explanation on the notice was of no help.
THE SOLUTION
Janet immediately went to work on the situation. After calming the client, she contacted a retired insurance agent she knew and asked help in finding an insurance agent who could look into the problem and get it straightened out. She put her client in touch with the new agent. After meeting with the agent ,the client received the advice and direction he needed. End of problem.
