An Evening of Exclusive Conversation Sponsored by C&D llp at The Gainey Vineyard
November 9, 2011 - C&D llp hosted a unique evening of conversation and Q&A for select Santa Ynez Valley Realtors with a distinguished panel of keynote speakers:
Lawnae Hunter Broker/Developer
Carl Lindros Mortgage Co. of Santa Barbara
Dr. Peter Rupert Director, UCSB Economic Forecast
Craig Zimmerman President, The Towbes Group
Dr. Rupert opened the event with a short presentation highlighting the national and local economy, with special emphasis of its effect on our local real estate markets. The other panelists followed with their perspectives on real estate cycles in general, and this cycle in particular. With their backgrounds in real estate sales, property management, commercial lending and commercial and residential development projects they provided the audience with insights and ideas of the real estate market recovery. All speakers anticipated improvement in the real estate economy over the next few years, but at a pace much slower than previous recoveries.
Panelists spoke about the effect of recent economic events on the local and regional economy, while expounding on the challenges and opportunities taking shape in Northern Santa Barbara County commercial and residential real estate markets. Fielding questions from the audience, discussions included the shifting mindset of buyers and sellers, private commercial lending, increased rental market versus home ownership, and the current status of new construction projects in our County.
Partner Steve Palmer welcomed the guests. The discussion was moderated by C&D partners Verva Enoch and Kathleen Campbell.
