C&D hosted its annual luncheon on October 27th at the Alisal Guest Ranch for over 70 financial professionals. This event has been hosted by the accounting firm since 1994, and has become a favorite of financial professionals throughout the County. Attendees included bankers, investment advisors, trust officers, attorneys and appraisers from leading firms both in the Santa Ynez Valley and Central Coast.
Partner, Tammy R. Vogsland opened the event by welcoming guests and introducing C&D Partners and staff in attendance.
The program titled, "Foreign Bank Reporting, Tax Audits and Other Current Tax Developments" was presented by Dennis Perez, Esquire, Tax Attorney, Author and Educator. Mr. Perez highlighted the tax enforcement focus of the Internal Revenue Service on undeclared foreign financial accounts, reporting requirements for taxpayers with overseas assets and options in place for taxpayers with undisclosed foreign accounts. He also touched on other current IRS enforcement procedures and priorities and the problems facing the IRS due to workforce attrition and the resulting issues with taxpayer service.
Partner, Kathleen W. Campbell closed the event by introducing and thanking founding partner, Richard Christensen, as the Firm is celebrating 50 years in business. She also thanked everyone for taking the time to attend; encouraged them to contact the Firm with any questions and visit C&D's website for tax and planning resources and to sign up for their monthly eNewsletter.
